So the other day I get on Amazon.com to look for some cables cheap. I order a lot of small stuff from Amazon because the prices are highly competitive and I’ve always had great and fast service on orders. I even got my TravelPro carry-on suitcase from there! After a quick look-see, I found what I needed and ordered two cables for…well…dirt. If I got name-brand cables, it would’ve cost ten times as much. And the shipping was free!! Can’t beat free. Click here, click there and the order was placed and a confirmation e-mail followed.
|Total before tax:||$4.39|
|Estimated tax to be collected:*||$0.00|
Delivery estimate: May 15, 2013 – June 3, 2013
Sweet!!! TWO lightning cables for $4.39 and free shipping!! A quick glance at the delivery estimate took me back a second. May!? June?! It’s APRIL!! The stuff was in-stock so I figured it was just a buffer for the seller so I don’t burn them for being late in getting the cables to me.
This morning I got an email from Amazon saying my order had shipped!! Woohoo!!
What the hell!? There it was again!! May 15 – June 3!! There it is in small print: USPS. Everyone’s heard of Snail Mail, but really?! Where’s my order coming from!? Nome, Alaska, by dog sled through a forest?! So seriously..this sequestration business is getting WAY out of hand if the postal service takes a MONTH to deliver a package..I want to jump on the Entitlement Train and DEMAND the government do something about this delivery problem! I’m ENTITLED to get my order in a week! I mean, I paid….nothing for shipping..oh. Maybe I should call my senator and demand a new bill be drafted to ensure that I’m entitled to get my orders quick! …or Maybe I should Shut The Hell Up because I didn’t pay a dime for shipping on an order that cost me barely 10% of what it would have at a store. Yes…ok then.
Anyway…It’s a beautiful Spring day. Down here anyway. And just for the record, I have utmost respect for the men and women of the US Postal Service. Only Germany’s Bundespost does it as well. Y’all enjoy!!
